Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 October 2026

This policy describes how MRCEM Exam Prep handles personal information on https://mrcemexamprep.net (the "Service"). MRCEM Exam Prep is no longer accepting new subscriptions. Existing subscribers can continue to access the platform.

This page explains what information the Service uses, why it is used, and the choices you have. Words used here have the same meaning as in the Terms and Conditions at https://mrcemexamprep.net/terms-and-conditions.

Who is responsible for your data?

MRCEM Exam Prep is a retired educational platform, maintained to provide continued access to existing subscribers and preserve its educational resources.

Personal information is processed where necessary to maintain existing accounts, provide access to subscribed content, respond to enquiries and meet applicable legal obligations.

For questions about your personal information, or to exercise your data protection rights, please use our Contact Us page.

Information we use

Account information for existing subscribers includes the name, email address, and login details needed to open the account. The Service does not store payment card numbers. Card payments for past purchases were taken by Stripe or PayPal, under their own privacy policies.

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, together with the technical details needed to receive that message.

The Service does not use advertising, analytics, or visitor tracking. It does not use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, Facebook, Twitter, or similar remarketing tools.

What your browser stores

Signing in does not use an advertising cookie. The login token is kept in this browser’s local storage under the name user, so the site can send it with requests and open your question banks. That storage is necessary for the account.

While you study, the current quiz is also kept in local storage so it can continue in this browser. Those entries include questions, useranswers, samplequestion, examtypes, mockexamtypes, mockquestions, quizid, exam_type_id, cActiveQuestion, taged, reqParams, reqWrongExamParams, and subjectUnites. A light or dark appearance choice is saved as colorMode. If a signed-in subscriber selects a subscription length, that choice is saved locally as temp_subscription_list. This information stays on your device. It is not used to profile you and it is not shared with advertisers.

Clearing this site’s saved data in your browser signs you out and removes quiz progress stored on that device. It does not delete your account or subscription records on the server. More detail is in the Cookie Policy.

Contact form and reCAPTCHA

The contact page loads Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. Google may set its own cookies when that page is shown. We use that check only to tell whether a message comes from a person. The reCAPTCHA script is not loaded on other pages, and we do not use it for advertising or visitor analytics. Google’s privacy information is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts so text displays consistently. That request is for presentation. We do not use it for analytics.

Why information is used

  1. To provide the account, question banks, and other features an existing subscriber already has
  2. To reply to messages sent through the contact form
  3. To protect the Service, investigate misuse, and meet a legal duty

We do not use personal information to advertise other products, and we do not sell personal information.

Payments already taken

New subscriptions are not being offered. Records of payments already taken remain with the Service and with the payment provider that processed them. Stripe’s privacy policy is at https://stripe.com/privacy. PayPal’s privacy policy is at https://www.paypal.com/uk/legalhub/privacy-full.

How long information is kept

Account and purchase records are kept for as long as needed to provide access to existing subscribers and to meet legal duties. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of that correspondence.

Where information is processed

The Service is operated from the United Kingdom. Service providers such as the host, email provider, Google (for reCAPTCHA and fonts), Stripe, and PayPal may process information in other countries. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law should be in place.

When information may be disclosed

Personal information may be disclosed where the law requires it, where it is needed to investigate misuse of the Service, or to protect users or the public. It is not disclosed for advertising.

Your choices

You can update account details from your account page when you are signed in. You can ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion where the law allows. Please use the Contact Us page to make a request. We may ask you to confirm that you are the account holder before responding.

Security

The security of your data matters, but no method of sending or storing information on the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so it can be removed.

This policy may be updated by posting a new version on this page, including an updated effective date.
